Christopher John Grace was born in New York City on July 12, 1978. Topher Grace is his stage name. Work on Madison Avenue was something that John Grace Sr. did. Pat, his mother, worked as an assistant teacher at the made-up institution known as “New Canaan Country School.” Topher has a sister by the name of Jenny.

His early years were spent in the town of Darien, Connecticut in the United States. He began his career as an actor by participating in school productions of musicals such as “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and “The Pirates of Penzance.” Instead of Chris, his pals gave him the nickname Topher, and he prefers that to his given name.
