Josh Lucas Biography
Josh Lucas was born on 20 June 1971. Little Rock, Arkansas residents Michele Maurer, a nurse-midwife, and Don Maurer, a physician who works in emergency medicine, are the parents of Josh Lucas. In 1979, Lucas’s film career got off to an improbable start when a film crew from Canada traveled to the South Carolina barrier island where he and his family were living to shoot some scenes for a movie. Lucas, who was eight years old at the time, hid in the sand dunes to watch the action unfold during the film’s finale sequence. This sequence featured a confrontation between the leads prompted by the young people’s increasing love for one other. Lucas was able to observe the action unfold from his vantage point.
Around this time, George Lucas came to the conclusion that would determine the course of his life for the subsequent roughly 30 years: he would start a career in filmmaking. Lucas, who was born in Arkansas in 1971 to two young parents who were politically active at the time, spent his formative years traveling throughout the South. The final destination for Lucas’ family was Gig Harbor, Washington, and it was there that he completed his secondary education. Lucas was able to advance to the 1989 National Championship in Dramatic Interpretation after winning the State Championship in Dramatic Interpretation with the assistance of the school’s award-winning drama and debate program.
