Joshua Jackson was born on June 11, 1978, in the city of Vancouver, which is located in the Pacific Northwest. Joshua Jackson is the son of Fiona Jackson and John Carter. His upbringing as a Catholic significantly shaped his perspective on the world. His mother is an actress and has appeared in a number of high-grossing movies because she works in the casting industry. Joshua stayed in California up until he turned eight years old, at which point the family uprooted and moved to Vancouver, in the province of British Columbia.
