Jeff Fahey Biography

 



On November 29, 1952, American and Irish parents welcomed their son Jeffrey David Fahey into the world in Olean, New York. He was the sixth of thirteen children born to Francis Thomas and Jane Fahey. His father owned a clothes business, and his mother stayed at home to raise him. After spending his formative years in Buffalo, New York’s public schools, Jeffrey struck off on his own at seventeen, first hitchhiking to Alaska and then traveling across Europe and other countries, including Israel and Afghanistan.

In 1984, Jeff made his cinematic debut as Gary Corelli on the daytime drama “One Life to Live.” His career took off after landing this role, but he never shied away from hard work, often playing four separate roles simultaneously. He claimed that his time as a wandering worker who accepted every job he was offered had adequately prepared him for the challenges of the film business.
