Andy Murray Biography
Andy Murray is a British professional tennis player who was born on May 15th, 1987. He is originally from Scotland but now resides in the United Kingdom. His full name is Sir Andrew Barron Murray OBE. He finished 2016 as the best tennis player in the world according to the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), and he was ranked No. 1 for a total of 41 weeks in the global rankings of the ATP.
Murray has participated in and reached the finals of eleven major events, winning three Grand Slam singles championships, including two at Wimbledon (in 2013 and 2016) and one at the US Open. In addition, Murray has competed in and reached the finals of eleven major tournaments (2012). From July 2008 until October 2017, Murray spent all but one month of that timeframe rated among the top 10, and he finished no lower than fourth place in the world in eight of the nine year-end rankings that were conducted during that time period. Murray’s tenure as a top-four finisher in the world spans the entirety of the period from July 2008 until October 2017.
