Andy Lau Biography
He was born on September 27, 1961 in Hong Kong. From the middle of the 1980s, Lau has established himself as one of the most financially successful film actors in Hong Kong. Throughout this period, he has appeared in more than 160 films while also pursuing a lucrative career as a singer.
In the 1990s, the media began to refer to Lau as one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Cantopop. This moniker stuck throughout the decade. A record for “Most Awards Won by a Cantopop Male Artist” was submitted for Lau to be considered for the Guinness World Records. By April of the year 2000, he had already amassed a record-breaking total of 292 accolades. In 2005, Lau was given the title of “No. 1 Box office Actor 1985-2005” in Hong Kong.
