Cher Biography
Cher is a legend in the United States, and for good reason, she is revered by many as the “Goddess of Pop.” She is well-known for both her unique contralto singing voice as well as the success she has had in a variety of types of entertainment, ranging from music to cinema and even beyond.
Cher rose to prominence in the music industry in 1965 as a member of the family rock husband-and-wife duet Sonny & Cher. The couple is best known for their performance of the song “I Got You Babe” as well as their immensely successful television program. She made her debut on Broadway in the 1980s, the same decade in which she also achieved acclaim in films such as Mask and Moonstruck, the latter of which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress.
