Kenneth Branagh Biography

 

Born on December 10, 1960, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to Frances Harper and William Branagh, a plumber and business owner whose company specialized in suspended ceilings and fitting partitions, Kenneth Charles Branagh is an actor, director, and producer. A member of a family of Protestant laborers. There are two of Kenneth’s siblings. ‘The Troubles,’ a period of violent religious warfare, had been going on in Ireland since he was nine years old, so his family had to leave and settle in Reading, Berkshire, England.

Grove Primary School, Whiteknights Primary School, and Meadway School in Tilehurst were his early educational institutions. British actor, producer, director, and screenwriter Sir Kenneth Charles Branagh, better known by his stage and screen name, Kenneth Branagh, is renowned for his interpretations of several of Shakespeare’s plays on film and television, as well as for his work on box office hits like “Thor” and “Cinderella.” He was educated at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and later became its president after Richard Attenborough’s term ended. Kenneth Branagh joined the Royal Shakespeare Company because he was interested in acting at an early age.
