Larin Sullivan, who also wrote the script for the movie about the drag king scene in 1990s Las Vegas, will make his feature directorial debut. Justin Tranter, a Grammy and Golden Globe-nominated songwriter known for his work with Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, and many others, has been hired as an executive music producer. Along with Clemons, Tranter will also compose the film’s original score, which will be produced by Kim Bailey, Isabel Marden, and Corporate Witchcraft.

The Young King will begin filming in Las Vegas in the first quarter of 2023. With WME Independent handling North American rights, Mister Smith Entertainment is starting international sales and showcasing the property to investors at the forthcoming AFM. In addition to having a fantastic cast and idea, the movie will also include music from composer Justin Tranter, who is working as the executive music producer and creating original music for the picture. Tranter is best known for penning songs for Lady Gaga and Britney Spears. In the upcoming drag king comedy movie The Young King, Kiersey Clemons will appear with Barbie Ferreira, a former cast member of Euphoria.
