In ‘American Beauty,’ for which he won an Academy Award, Kevin Spacey portrays a middle-aged, middle-class family member. He’s an accomplished actor who can convincingly portray a wide range of characters in a wide variety of film genres. He always had a lot of pep in his step and a flair for the dramatic, even as a young guy. He was a misbehaving teen who was kicked out of several educational institutions.

When a few professors at his school saw his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in acting, he knew he had found his true calling. He made his cinematic debut in the mid-1980s, and his breakthrough performance as Roger Kint in the crime thriller The Usual Suspects earned him an Academy Award.
