Hannah Waddingham Biography

 

Hannah Waddingham is a British actress and singer who was born on July 28, 1974. She is best known for her role as Rebecca Welton in the comedy series Ted Lasso on Apple TV+, for which she won the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2021 and 2022 as well as the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2021.

She has also made appearances in a variety of West End productions, including Spamalot, Into the Woods, which was revived in 2010 at Regent’s Park, and The Wizard of Oz, when she played the Wicked Witch of the West. She has been nominated for three Olivier Awards for her work. In London’s Wandsworth, Waddingham was born. Both of her maternal grandparents and her mother, Melodie Kelly, were opera singers.
