Horatio Sanz Biography

 

Horatio Sanz was born on June 4th, 1969 in the capital city of Santiago, Chile. His formative years were spent in the Windy City. In addition to that, he performed stand-up comedy with the Upright Citizens Brigade in Chicago and was a member of the Second City in Chicago.

When he joined the cast of the long-running sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, he did so as a featured player at the beginning of the 24th season. In doing so, he created history by becoming the first Latino cast member on the show. After only one year as a featured player, he, along with co-featured players Jimmy Fallon and Chris Parnell, were all elevated to regular status. Horatio played a number of roles throughout the course of the show, including Frankie Hilbert in the episode titled “Boston Teens,” the stoner Gobi in the episode titled “Jarret’s Room,” and the audiovisual teacher Mr. Banglian in the episode titled “Wake Up, Wakefield.”
