Asa Butterfield Biography

 



Asa Butterfield was born on April 1, 1997, in Islington, London. He was named after his father. There is also his sister Marlie, as well as his brother Morgan. He also has a sister Loxie. When Butterfield applied for his passport, he listed his middle name as “Bopp,” despite the fact that his birth record displays his middle name as “Maxwell Thornton.”

When Asa Butterfield was only eight years old, a casting director at the Young Actors’ Theatre Islington spotted him and brought him in for an audition. It was the telefilm “After Thomas” that he appeared in back in 2006 that launched his professional acting career. Butterfield had a cameo appearance in the movie playing the role of Andrew, a supporting character. His first significant cinematic appearance was in the comedic motion picture “Son of Rambow”. The year after that, he had a recurring role in the British television crime thriller titled “Ashes to Ashes,” which was broadcast on BBC One.
