Stephen Collins Biography
Stephen Weaver Collins was born in the United States on October 1st, 1947. Eric Camden was the character that he played in the long-running sitcom 7th Heaven. Two of his other prominent roles include that of Captain Will Decker in the Star Trek: The Motion Picture film adaptation and Dr. Dayton King on the ABC sitcom No Ordinary Family, which aired for only one season. On the television show Revolution, he appeared as a guest star in the role of Dr. Gene Porter, the father of Rachel Matheson, played by Elizabeth Mitchell.
Collins has appeared in a number of productions on Broadway, including Moonchildren, The Ritz, The Loves of Anatol, and No Sex Please, We’re British. He has also appeared in a number of productions off-Broadway, including Beyond Therapy by Christopher Durang, Macduff opposite Christopher Walken’s Macbeth at Lincoln Center, and Putting It Together, a Stephen Sondheim revue, as Julie Andrews’ husband at Manhattan Theatre Club in 1993.
