Happy Kelli Biography
Kelli-Leigh, a British pop-soul diva, began her career as a backup singer for artists like Adele before the massive success of two dance tunes on which she had appeared opened the door to a solo career. Kelli-Leigh Henry-Davila was born in 1985 and raised in Selhurst, South London. She always wanted to be a singer, and she worked her one and only “regular” job to save up for a keyboard.
She graduated from the same class as Leona Lewis and Katie Melua at the BRIT School, and her reputation as a competent and reliable supporting vocalist led to a slot with Adele on the singer’s tour in support of her debut album. Because of the success of Adele’s second album 21, which was released during the tour, Kelli-Leigh was invited to perform at both the Grammys and the Academy Awards with her. As the tour wrapped up in 2012, she recorded her debut EP, titled I Am Here, but it was not a commercial success. She relocated to Poland and stayed there for a year and a half, working as a singer and almost signed with Universal when a terrible car accident rendered her immobile for months.
