Carrie Coon Biography
Carrie Coon was born on January 24, 1981, to Paula and John Coon in Copley, Ohio, USA. She is the middle of the couple’s five children. She has roots in Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and Slovakia-Hungary. After graduation, she continued her education at Mount Union. In 2003, she graduated with a BA in English and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin, and in 2006, she obtained an M.F.A. in acting from the same institution.
Actress Carrie Alexandra Coon is renowned for her roles as Nora Durst on “The Leftovers” (HBO), Gloria Burgle on “Fargo”, Vera Walker in “The Sinner,” Meg Greenfield in “The Post,” and Proxima Midnight in The Marvel Cinematic Universe. She has also been nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in the 2012 revival of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” on Broadway. Coon, a native of Ohio, attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison to get a Master of Fine Arts in acting. In 2011, she made her first appearance on television in an episode of the Playboy Club on NBC. Three years later, in David Fincher’s thriller film “Gone Girl,” she made her film debut. Coon’s performance in “Fargo” earned her a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie. She worked on the 2015 comedy-drama ‘Lost Colony as an associate producer.
