Sam Smith Biography

 

Sam Smith was born on May 19, 1992. He went to Bishop Stortford’s St. Mary’s Catholic School. He began singing lessons with jazz pianist Joanna Eden in Saffron Walden, Essex when he was just eight years old. As a young child, he began singing in choirs and eventually became a member of the Bishop’s Stortford Junior Operatics and the Cantate Youth Chorus. Singer-songwriter Sam Smith hails from England.

His breakthrough came with the release of the track “Latch,” which featured electronic instrumentation by Guy and Howard Lawrence. His career took off the following year after the release of his single ‘La La La’ featuring music by ‘Naughty Boy.
