Zhang Hanyu Biography

 

An actress from China, Zhang Hanyu was born on December 19, 1964. He earned his degree from the Beijing Central Academy of Drama in 1988. The movie Shark Tale, The Lord of the Rings, and Troy were among his first dubbing projects in Mandarin. Thereafter, Zhang appeared in several TV series in bit parts before making cameos in several films directed by Feng Xiaogang, including Sorry Baby, Cell Phone, Big Shot’s Funeral, and A World Without Thieves. He gained Feng’s respect and became known as “Feng Xiaogang’s royal dragon casing.”

Assembly, a war drama released in 2007, marked Zhang’s first time in the role of leading man, and it earned a record 260 million RMB at the box office. As a result of his excellent performance, Zhang quickly rose to the top of the Chinese film industry. Zhang also took home the Best Actor trophy at that year’s Hundred Flowers Awards and the Best Leading Actor trophy at the Golden Horse Film Awards. The Huabiao Awards presented Zhang with the Outstanding Actor trophy the following year. Both Zhang and Eddie Peng starred in the 2016 crime thriller Operation Mekong. The film has become the most successful Chinese police drama ever.
