Paulina Rubio Biography

Since her mother is the renowned actress Susana Dosamantes, Paulina spent most of her childhood on the road. She had already decided that she wanted to be a singer by the time she was 7 years old. She studied dancing/singing at El Centro de Capacitacion de Televisa. Later on, she joined the adolescent pop hit Timbiriche, where she played with Thala. Timbiriche was the song that brought them both fame.

Paulina parted ways with Timbiriche in 1991, after having been a member of the band for a total of ten years. She had the desire to compose her own songs. “La Chica Dorada,” Paulina’s first studio album, was a huge commercial success. It had two songs that reached number one on the charts: “Mio” and “Amor De Mujer.” The follow-up album, titled “24 Kilates,” was awarded the gold certification and included the singles “Nieva, Nieva” and “Asunto De Doas.”
