Jennifer Connelly’s parents Ilene and Gerard Connelly brought her into the world in the New York City suburb of Cairo. The daughter of a garment manufacturer and an antique dealer, she grew up in the family business. She went to Saint Ann’s Elementary School in Brooklyn Heights, where she grew up.

American actress Jennifer Lynn Connelly rose to prominence at a young age. When a friend of her father’s approached the Connellys about using her beauty in advertisements, she began child modeling at the age of 10. She was first requested to do a ballet number for her film debut. Connelly had to wait until she was a teenager to obtain leadership roles in Italian and English-language films.
