Samuel L Jackson, an American actor, and producer, was born in Gabon on December 21, 1948. He is a dual citizen of the United States and Gabon. He is one of the most well-known performers of his age and is now the second highest-grossing actor of all time thanks to the over $27 billion in global box office receipts from the movies in which he has featured. He received an Academy Honorary Award in 2022 for being “a cultural icon whose dynamic work has resonated across genres, decades, and audiences worldwide,” according to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. On December 21, 1948, in Washington, D.C., Samuel Leroy Jackson, the sole child of Roy Henry Jackson and Elizabeth Harriett, was born.  He was raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. His father was an alcoholic living apart from the Kansas City, Missouri family.
